Minnesota Section Of Death Strikes Again! NXN Qualifiers Edina, Wayzata OUT For State Meet

The Section of Death strikes again! No. 20 ranked Jaret Carpenter won the individual title in 15:38 on Wednesday afternoon, though his bubble team in Wayzata will not advance to the state meet as they finished just fourth in a loaded field.

No. 11 ranked Hopkins rallied behind a runner-up finish by Owen Hoeft (15:45) to win the overall title with 52 points in a very close team race ahead of unranked Minneapolis Washburn High School (57 points), No. 20 ranked Edina (62 points) and bubble team Wayzata (62 points). Only Hopkins and Minneapolis Washburn qualified for the state meet, leaving behind two teams who qualified for NXN in 2014.
