MileSplit All-American Team - Boys 1600m/Mile Run Presented by New Balance

Grant Fisher tied Matthew Maton for U.S. No. 3 3:59.38 All-Time in the mile!

1. Grant Fisher (Grand Blanc, MI - Sr.) - The Stanford commit ran sub four this year in 3:59.38, tying Matthew Maton's time exactly for U.S. No. 3 All-Time. He rounded out his season winning the Dream Mile in 4:01.73, placing second in the Brooks PR Invitational 2 Mile (8:43.57), and third in the 1500m at the USATF Junior Championships (3:58.77).

2. Matthew Maton (Summit, OR - Sr.) - Maton was the first prep to go sub four this year running a 3:59.38 at the Oregon Twilight Meet. After that, the Oregon commit had an injury and was unable to run until the USATF Junior Championship meet, where he won the 5k in 14:47.10.

3. Andrew Hunter (Loudoun Valley, VA - Jr.) - Mid-season, Hunter won the Penn Relays Mile in 4:07.15. The Junior then pulled together an impressive post-season, including second in the Dream Mile to Grant Fisher, running a 4:02.36, and then came back to beat Fisher two weekends in a row at both the Brooks PR Invitational 2 Mile and USATF Junior Champs 1500m. At USATF Junior Nationals, Hunter took second only to Oregon college freshman Blake Haney, who finished third in the 1500m at NCAA's (3:55.12).

4. Mike Brannigan (Northport, NY - Sr.) - The New York State 3200m record holder capped off his season running at both the adidas Dream Mile, placing third (4:03.18) and Brooks PR Invitational 2 Mile, where he finished 12th (9:00.59) after leading for most of the race.

5. Joe Klecker (Hopkins, MN - Sr.) - Klecker was the the Minnesota state champion in both the 1600m (4:06.54) and 3200m (8:57.76). The senior ran both those performances solo earning himself a spot in the adidas Dream Mile where he finished fourth running a 4:04.13. To round out his high school career, he ran the Brooks PR Invitational 2 Mile finishing 11th (8:59.45).

6. Logan Wetzel (Saline, MI - Sr.) - The senior ran the Adidas Dream mile, placing 5th in a time of 4:04.60. The Villanova commit then ran at NBNO on both his teams' 4x800 and DMR teams, helping anchor the team to two All-American finishes. His anchor leg aided the DMR to a sweep of the New Balance Nationals titles - Saline won the relay at the indoor and outdoor championships. He then ran the 1500m at USATF Junior Championships, finishing 4th with a time of 3:59.36.

7. Paul Ryan (Logos, ID - Sr.) - Ryan's time of 4:06.21, which he ran at the Portland Track Festival, ranks U.S. No. 8. The eight-time Idaho state champ capped off his season winning the Brooks PR Invitational Mile in 4:07.97.

8. Carlos Villarreal (Rio Rico, AZ - Sr.) - The senior won two Arizona state titles this season in the 1600m and 800m, making him a five time state champion. He ran a 4:05.25 in the Mile at the Prefontaine Classic, which is an Arizona state record.
