Boys 1500m Prelims

The lead pack in heat one of the 1500.

Fisher, Wetzel, and Hoey in the pack during heat two of the 1500.

Recap: In heat one we saw Drew Hunter of Loudoun Valley High School in Virginia coast into one of those automatic qualifying spots with his second place 3:53.29 finish behind Blake Haney from the University of Oregon, graduate of Stockdale Valley High School in California.

Heat two was a close battle between the pack as we saw two runners collide and fall in the last 150 meters. With one lap to go, Blair Hurlock, current Stanford freshman and former Footlocker All-American from De La Salle High School in California, went to the lead and pulled the remainder of the field along. In the end we saw Logan Wetzel of Saline High School in Michigan take the win, Grant Fisher of Grand Blanc in Michigan take third, and Jaxson Hoey of Downingtown West in Pennsylvania finish fifth as all three qualified for the final on Saturday.
