  • Gairy Springer (Thomas Jefferson, NY) 1:52.62 800m to beat out James Asselmeyer, Peter Garmon
  • Anton Porter (Mount St. Michael, NY), Rai Benjamin (Mt. Vernon, NY) both run 10.69 100m but Porter gets the win. On Day 2, Porter wins 200m in 21.58 while Benjamin wins both 400m (46.67) and 400mH (51.71)
  • Rayvon Grey (Beacon, NY) US #4 24-9.75 LJ

Girls Highlights:

  • Bella Burda (Arlington, NY) defeats Hannah DeBalsi (Staples, CT), 10:24.84 in 3,200m
  • New York teams North Rockland and Suffern battle it out, but it's Suffern's 600-meter National High School Record Holder in Kamryn McIntosh who kicks it in the clutch with a 4:50 anchor leg. McIntosh typically runs the 1,200m, but her anchor brings NBN Indoor Champions Suffern home in US #1 11:45.04. Official splits, Suffern: 3:39.44, 55.48, 2:19.30, 4:50.83. North Rockland finished runner-up in US #2 11:46.72, with official splits of 3:36.09 (7th-grader Katelyn Tuohy), 59.38, 2:15.44, and 4:55.83.
  • New Balance Nationals Indoor 800m Champion Sammy Watson runs US #7 2:08.73, ahead of Sage Hurta, US #10 2:09.43. She returns on Day 2 to even greater acclaim, blitzing by a stellar sprint field to US #4 53.59 400m and splits 53.51 on the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay as her Rush-Henrietta Comets win in 3:47.65.
  • Emma Gallagher of Cardozo (NY) runs US #1 1:00.26 400mH
  • Annie Heffernan (St. Ursula Academy-Cincinnati, OH) runs US #10 4:49.47 Mile, Danae Rivers (Wilbur Cross, CT) goes US #11 4:51.78. Seventh-grader Katelyn Tuohy (North Rockland, NY) breaks Mary Cain's 7th Grade NY State Record in the Mile by finishing fifth in 4:58.40.
  • Marie-Josee Ebwea-Bile (Cardozo) jumps US #5 40-9 TJ

Girls Highlights:

  • Ebony Williams (Parkland) and Gabriele Cunningham (Mallard Creek) battle to the top of the national leaderboard in the hurdles, as Williams wins the 100mH to tie US #2 in 13.44 with Cunningham just behind in US #5 13.51. Williams comes back to win the 300mH in US #15 42.19. This weekend marks her first outdoor state titles after sweeping the 55 meter dash and 300 meter dash at the indoor state meet.
  • Sydnei Murphy (Apex) wins eighth state title in cracking the 20-foot barrier in the long jump for the first time. Her mark of 20-3 ranks US #5 and is the farthest jump in the nation this weekend. She also wins the triple jump in 40-0.75 and takes two third-place finishes in the 200m (24.03) and 100m (PR 11.61).
  • Kaitlin Sherman (Parkland) and Tamara Clark (High Point Central) trade wins in the short sprints, as senior Sherman wins 100m, 11.53 to 11.55 (wind-aided) but Clark wins 200m, 23.69 to 24.02 (wind-aided).
  • McKinley McNeill (Parkland) wins 400 over Layla White (Cary), 54.31 to 54.61, in just her second career race under 55 seconds.
  • Parkland girls sweep the 4x200m (1:36.43) and 4x400m (3:46.57) but Cunningham's Mallard Creek comes up with the win in the 4x100m, 46.69 to 46.85
  • G'Jasmyne Butler (Leesville Road) sets State Record 2:11.07 800m

Boys Highlights:

  • Daniel Estrada (Northwest Guilford) beats adidas Dream 100 qualifier Cravont Charleston (Mallard Creek) in the dash, 10.46 to 10.47 (wind-aided).
  • Philip Hall (South View) doubles in the 1,600m (4:12.07) and 3,200m (9:24.68)

Candace Hill broke her own state records in the 100m (11.3) and 200m (23.05).

  • Candace Hill (Rockdale County) breaks her own state records in 100m (11.34) and 200m (23.05). Both times are wind-legal and the 200-meter time stands as a new US #1!
  • Bria Matthews (Forest Park) jumps US #1 43-5.5 TJ. The senior leads the nation by 2.5 feet!
  • The most competitive 400 meter race in the entire nation went down, led by Aliyah Abrams (Grayson), who nearly became just the second girl this year to break 53 seconds! Abrams won in US #2 53.10, as Makenzie Dunmore (McEachern) ran US #4 53.32 and Serenity Douglas (Archer) finished third in 53.42. Freshman Kennedy Simon (Westlake) also broke into the national top 10 with a US #8 53.72 performance, good for fourth overall.
  • Baldwin HS ran US #4 45.91 4x100m
  • Taylor DeLoach (St. Vincent's) jumps US #6 19-11.5 LJ

Arizona State Championships (AZ)

Tria Sweater-Simmons (Mountain Pointe) wins TJ in US #8 40-4.5 (D1)

  • Desert Vista sisters Dani & Baylee Jones go 1-2 in D1 1,600m, 4:55.02 to 4:58.88 as Ali Kallner also goes sub-5 in 4:59.65. The trio returns to rock the 3,200m as Dani wins in 10:18, Baylee second in 10:36 and Kallner 10:39. Dani and Baylee join forces in the 4x800m, as Desert Vista wins the relay with a nation-leading time of 9:01.51

  • Carlos Villarreal sets Arizona State Record with 4:03.97 1,600m and doubles back with 1:54.23 800m

  • Sprint battles heat up as Janie O'Connor (Zachary, LA) blasts US #5 11.52 100m ahead of Hannah Jackson (Sulphur) 11.76, but Jackson takes 200m, US #13 23.73 to US #14 23.78. O'Connor closes out impressive triple with 54.86 400m win in Class 5A.
  • The prolific Gabrielle Jennings of First Baptist won her 37th state title and broke 2 of her own state records: 2:16.92 in the 800m and 5:00.60 in the 1,600m. She also won the 3,200m (11:36.77) and ran on the winning 4x400m (4:37.81). She is a junior.
  • Chelsey Jones (Mandeville, LA) breaks her own state record in the 800m, clocking 2:12.84. Also finishes runner-up in 400m, 55.11.
