Saturday night at the Seminole Twilight Meet, a freshman in high school placed 5th in a field of almost all college level athletes. Who was this young stud? No other than Ryan Deak. The same Ryan Deak who set the freshman 3200m indoor national record this past winter with a 9:29.
Deak ran the Men\'s 1500m run Saturday night. He not only dipped under the four minute mark but nearly broke the freshman national 1500 record, 3:56.84 set by Adam Perkins of Liberty, MO last July. Deak\'s time of 3:58.59 landed him an impressive fifth place finish. That 3:58.59 equates to a 4:16.20 1600m time, and a 4:17.12 mile. Some extremely impressive times, not to mention he\'s a freshman!
