His 5K time from this past weekend may be one of the slower times among our nominees for national XC boys performer of the week, but it certainly is one of the most impressive performances. Connor Olson of Wayzata High School in Minnesota won the Columbus Catholic Invitational in Wisconsin on Saturday with a time of 15:44. As can see in the above picture (by Kraig Lungstrom), the course had its obstacles to slow the 2013 Minnesota XC state runner-up down. The most impressive part of his win was Olson's ability to separate himself by 15 seconds from a 8:58 3200 meter runner in Eli Krahn (2nd, 15:59) of Stillwater Area. The senior Olson guided his US #4 ranked Wayzata boys to victory over their in-state rival and fellow nationally ranked squad in US #14 Stillwater Area..
