The Foot Locker West Region for girls seems to take a bigger hit than others from NXN pull lately with the Foot Locker West Region always held the same day as the Nike Cross Nationals. Two athletes that are looking to put the West Region back on top at Foot Locker Nationals are two returning All-American in 2013 Foot Locker West Regional champ Makena Morley of Montana and Lucy Biles of Utah. Morley is often a forgotten star runner being isolated in the state of Montana, but when she has had her opportunities to race national competition beyond her state borders, she has thrived. She ran a lifetime best of 10:16 in the 3200 at the Arcadia Invitational and finished as a national runner-up in the two mile at the New Balance Nationals, while also dropping a 16:49 5K PR on the track earlier in the same meet.
