Garrett O'Toole, a senior distance runner at Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, ran a US #1 time in the 1500 meter run by 6 seconds while competing against collegiate runners on Friday night at Princetown University with a remarkable time of 3:45.55. The time would easily convert to a 1600 (4:02) or mile (4:03-4:04) personal best for O'Toole, which would be national leading times as well if O'Toole had kept the pace for the extra distance. Third in the New Balance Nationals Indoor mile in March and a lifetime best of 4:12 in the mile from last year's adidas Dream Mile, O'Toole held his own against the college runners to finish 3rd overall amongst a pack of runners from Columbia University at the Princeton Elite Meet in New Jersey. The 1500 performance will likely open the door for O'Toole for more invitations to the top post-season meets in June including the adidas Dream mile again as well as the Brooks PR Invite to see what he can run at the full mile after running a incredible time for the metric mile in the 1500 this past weekend at Princeton.
