4 Meets To Watch With National Implications

Peoria Invitational

Tommy Brady after taking second at the Palatine Invite.

WhenSaturday, September 29th

Who: Tommy Brady (IL),  Andrew O'keefe (IL)

Why: This meet is another shot for Illinois teams and athletes to get a look at the state meet course at Detweiller Park. Last year Dylan Jacobs dropped an insane time, running 13:57.50 for 3-miles. Although I don't think we're going to see a time like that this year, we should see a good race.

Many of the guys who finished top ten last year should be back to run in 2018. Maine South High School's Tommy Brady is one of those guys. Brady has been on and off the MileSplit50 this season and is currently one of the guys on the bubble. Brady finished second in this race last year in 14:31.00. The senior will more than likely see competition from returning guys like Granite City High School's (IL) Andrew O'keefe and Jacobs High School's (IL) Zachary Albrecht.

In the girl's race, there doesn't appear to be any nationally-ranked athletes racing, but it should still be a solid race. Last year Edwardsville High School (IL) sophomore Abby Korak won the race running 17:30.80. The junior should be in contention to win it again.
