The Scoop: An Arizona State Record Goes Down, And More Top US No. 1 Weekend Efforts

It's going to be a fun spring in Florida for girls sprinting.

On the same day, and on the same track, Oakland Park Northeast (FL) High sophomore Briana Williams set a world age group record in the 100m for 15-year-olds, Gainesville (FL) freshman Tamari Davis tied a freshman class record in the 200m by posting a wind-legal best of 23.06 (+1.5) in the 200m at the Bob Hayes Invitational on Saturday.

Davis is just a week removed from winning national titles in the indoor 60m and 200m races at New Balance Nationals Indoor.  Her outdoor 23.06 second time tied a freshman class mark held by Ridgeland (MS) High graduate Bianca Knight set in 2004.

Davis ran 23.12 seconds in the preliminaries.
