Michelin, with a PB of 2:15.93 in the 800m, is what you would consider an "underrated" talent. Probably known more for her track times, including a 4:32.81 PB in the 1500m, Michelin qualified for her first state championships last year in Illinois and finished 117th.
Perhaps her fortunes could change significantly in 2017. She won an extremely competitive field at the First to the Finish Invitational in Illinois -- on her state course -- and picked up a 140 speed rating with a time of 16:48.9. She beat Naperville North's Sarah Schmitt, who finished sixth at state last year, more than a 100 places ahead of Michelin.
