Analysis: Last year as a freshman Graydon Morris made it to the Foot Locker National meet. In fact, Morris was the first freshman at Foot Locker since 2017 NCAA fourth-place finisher Futsum Zienasellassie. Zienasellassie and Morris are the only two freshmen to make it to the national meet digging back the past 16 years. Morris ended up finishing 34th at Foot Locker. Although that was one of the highlights of his season, it was not his only big race. Morris also finished third in the 5A UIL state cross country championships. Not to mention a big fifth-place finish at the McNeil Invitational.
During the track season, Morris was dealing with a little bit of an injury but still managed to run times of 4:16.50 for 1600m and 9:17.90 for 3200m as well as a runner-up finish in the UIL track and field championship 3200m (9:21.02).
