There are two races to really pay attention to here.
The first is the fastest.
Panther Creek's J Johnson headlines an eight-athlete field that features three of the state's top four in the 100m dash. Johnson, who was second at New Balance Nationals Indoor in the 60m, has run a top time of 10.34 seconds this year and is matching up against Athens Drive's Brandon Ray (10.50) and Garner's Rondell Terry (10.60).

Cardinal Gibbon High's effort in the 4x1600 relay could also yield a state record. The team will feature one of the nation's best in Connor Lane, a Stanford signee.
Gibbons is hoping for a state record here and will lean on Lane, who was eighth at Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals and second in March in a loaded 5K field at the Texas Distance Festival. It will be interesting to see where lane's legs are at after a month of training.
A few weeks ago, during American Fork's national record effort in the 4x1600m relay at Arcadia, Casey Clinger closed in 4:02 to help his team smash the former record by 11 seconds. Can Lane offer a similar performance?
