Joy McArthur of Dana Hills (CA) as a high school junior beat out the college freshmen and nation's top high school throwers to claim the USATF Junior Nationals women's hammer title last summer in Fresno, California with a personal best throw of 203'8". As a result, she represented the United States with a 9th place finish in the finals at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Poland. McArthur has already thrown nearly 200 feet (199'6") this spring competing unattached in a college meet at Cal State LA.
