Georgia freshman Tia Jones after running 12.84 to break the national high school record for 100m hurdles in June.

Tia Jones and Chanel Brissett go 12.5 in 100m hurdles

2015 was an incredible year with Tia Jones(#1), Chanel Brissett(#4), Tonea Marshall(#6), Alexis Duncan(#7), and Brandee Johnson(#9) all racing into the top 10 all time list in the 100H. Brissett would go on to compete at the Olympic Trials and sophomore Tia Jones became the new national record holder with her 12.84. Jones and Brissett are part of only four athletes to go under 13.00 in high school history. We are seeing a dynamic shift in the girls hurdles with the amount talent rising across the country. All preconceived ideas of the limits of athletes in this event need to be thrown out the window. There is no more ceiling for what is possible. Jones and Brissett are going to obliterate the 12.84 national record and both run under 12.50.
