No. 1 Ranked Nevada Mareno Debuts With Friday Night Lights Win

Top-ranked Nevada Mareno made her cross country season debut with an 18:04.39 5K win at the Friday Night Lights Invitational in North Carolina. She said after the race that she was not pleased with the effort, as she ran 17:38 last year in a more competitive race vs. Sara Platek, but she also did not run as much over the summer in an effort to peak better for Foot Locker Nationals.
Green Hope High School dominated the team race by packing their 1-5 scorers in second through sixth place.
