As we bid the seniors farewell and good luck, here is one last look down memory lane. We've listed the top 100 seniors in the 3200m, 1600m, and 800m, along with the progression through their past four years in the event.
For each event the Most Improved will be awarded based on the difference from their first year and senior season bests.
Distance Events
Since high school is the first (and last) time the 3200 is run, the freshman/first year times are especially interesting and hit a wide range. Most freshman don't know the best way to run the race since it is significantly shorter than the 5k, but also twice the 1600. Coming into the event, breaking the 10 minute barrier is a huge step for a freshman to make.
Out of these 100 senior boys, only 57 ran the 3200 as a freshman. Out of those 57, 34 ran a sub 10 minute 3200. 9 didn't even break 10 until junior year!
(There are no 2 mile times included).
