National Weekend Rundown for March 5

Neal, Watson, Tooker, Thomas Get Big Wins at NY State Meet

All of the biggest names in action at the NYSPHSAA meet took care of business. Perhaps the most notable performance came from Kaitlyn Neal, who won the girls 3K in 9:29.85. That breaks Aisling Cuffe's state meet record, and means that Neal has two of the eleven fastest 3Ks in high school girl history. No other girl has more than one mark in the top 11, though Cuffe had two in the top ten before the season started.

Other notable performances:
-South Shore won the boys 4x200 in a meet record 1:30.47
-Aidan Tooker won the 3200 in 9:03
-Rush Henrietta Sperry won the 55, long jump, 600, 1K, and 4x200. Lanae-Tava Thomas won the 55/LJ, Sammy Watson won the 600/1K, and both were on the victorious 4x2.
