What's Going Down This Weekend?

Top Southeastern talent from Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia and more converges at North Carolina's renowned JDL Fast Track this weekend. Top races to watch include:

  • High powered hurdles showdown: 60-meter hurdles US #1 Anna Cockrell vs. US #2 Tonea Marshall. Both ladies own PRs on the All-Time Top 10 List; don't be surprised if they challenge the 8.20 mark. Cockrell will also race the 55m dash.
  • It's time for sub-2:10 in the 800m: Sub-2:10 ladies Daesha Rogers from Florida and Laurie Barton from South Carolina could challenge Danae Rivers' US #1 2:12 800m, plus 2:11 North Carolina state champ G'Jasmyne Butler, who raced on the national runner-up 4x800m relay for Leesville Road HS last March
  • Daloria Boone hit 20 feet in the long jump last year as a freshman! She's entered in the long jump here as well as the Elite 60m Dash
  • Elly Henes and Libby Davidson at it again: the cross country stars ran US #2 10:35.62 and US #3 10:35.65 in a dramatic 3200m last weekend at Virginia Tech. This weekend, they'll race the Mile, where Davidson has a PR of 4:53 (full mile) and Henes 4:56 (1600m)
  • Southeast Raleigh and Parkland girls relays: 
  • Three girls under 55 seconds in the 400m: McKinley McNeill, Arlicia Bush, Karimah Davis
  • Marcus Krah 23-5.75 seed in long jump
  • Girls 4x4 features two of U.S. Top 10: US #2 Southeast Raleigh TC has run 3:49; they will rematch with Parkland (US #8 3:55)
  • Marcus Krah and Braxton Canady ran US #2-3 in the 55m hurdles this past weekend; they'll go at it again in the 60m hurdles
  • Speedy Sprints: US #3 Daniel Estrada looks to improve 6.79 60m Dash; he's ranked No. 5 in the 55m and will race No. 6 ranked Cravont Charleston
