What's Going Down This Weekend?

Jimmy Carnes Indoor (FL)

Finally, it's time for Florida to come out to play! One of the best track and field states in the nation has few winter time competitions, but the Jimmy Carnes Indoor always produces fire. A few key names to watch for:

  • Khalifa St. Fort will make her indoor debut! The 100m Pan American Junior Athletic Champion (pictured above) has 11.19 credentials to her name outdoors, but has never raced indoors. The UCLA commit will take on the 55m Dash, the 200m and the 400m. Let's see how she compares to Candace Hill's 7.32 and Lynna Irby's US #1 7.45. She'll have to get by Alfreda Steele of Fla. and Tayor DeLoach of Ga.
  • Freshman Class National Record Holder Tyrese Cooper aims for 60m Dash: The frosh class national record holder (pictured) for the indoor 200m/400m says he is targeting the national standard for the 60m Dash, which is 6.78 by Jerald Watson from 2001.
  • Age group stars Briana Williams and Tamari Davis: Williams trains with Ato Boldon and St. Fort and is an AAU national champion; Davis ran 11.77 as a 12-year-old last year.
