Hunter led the rankings wire to wire. And we shouldn't have faltered in our belief in Lundy! Some notables who outperformed their August ranks: Bielaczyc got 4th at Foot Locker, Roberts was 5th at FLN/11th at Nike, Jordan was 6th at NXN, Seth Hirsch was ninth at BOTH national meets, Brodey Hastey took 7th at NXN, Ben Petrella was 6th at NXN, Lalo Hererra was 5th at NXN, Jaret Carpenter was 4th at NXN, and Alek Parsons was 3rd at NXN. Parsons was ranked 11th in the preseason, Carpenter 12th, Roberts 14th, Petrella 15th, and Bielaczyc 16th; Jordan, Hirsch, Hastey, and Herrera came into the season unranked.

Who over-performed relative to their preseason status? The top two at Foot Locker--Gilbert and Kelati--weren't even in the preseason top 20, as Gilbert was 21st and Kelati 25th. Ella Donaghu was 15th in the preseason at 2nd at NXN; Bethany Hasz was 13th in August and 5th in December. And Nevada Mareno was third at Foot Locker, Judy Pendergast was 4th at Foot Locker and 8th at NXN, Taylor Werner was 5th at FLN, Madison Troy was 6th at FLN, Sarah Leinheiser was 8th at FLN and 7th at NXN, Callie Logue was 3rd at NXN, Kelsey Chmiel was fourth at NXN, and Ashton Endsley was 6th at NXN. None of them were ranked in the preseason.
