Watkins Memorial senior Andrew Jordan clocked 15:14.6 to become the fourth-fastest 5k runner in the nation this season. He ran 15:19 on the outdoor track this spring, though his prior cross country 5k best was a 15:29 last year. Jordan took third at the Ohio State XC Championships last fall.
The time is particularly impressive upon considering that he ran 16:48 at this meet last year.
Jordan became the first boys' track and field state champion in school history this past March, when he won the Ohio state indoor 3200m title in 9:14.
