American Fork swept the girls and boys team titles in new course record times at their home meet, the American Fork Grass Relays.

The varsity race is an actual 5 man, 10 mile relay with batons; each athlete running a 2 mile leg before handing off the baton. 2 mile splits are calculated for each varsity athlete. All JV races are 2 miles, according to Cavemen coach Timo Mostert.

Casey Clinger's 9:49 third place run led the US #3 ranked American Fork boys to an overall course record of 51:42. Patrick Parker (10:01), Joe Simmons (10:21), Hagen Harmer (10:38) and Patrick Larkin (10:53) rounded out the top five Cavemen.

Garek Bielaczyc of East High won the overall title in 9:43, No. 2 All-Time on the course, just ahead of Talon Hull in No. 3 All-Time 9:48.

The American Fork girls squad, ranked US #11, set a new record with their overall time of 61:20. Sara Musselman ran the third fastest time of the day in 11:53, which stands as No. 9 on the all-time course record list. Cami Squires (12:32), Katie Cornell (12:29), Sammy Hollingsworth (12:13) and Sophie Baird (12:12) rounded out the pack.

McKenna Lee of Weber (pictured) set the All-Time Course Record with a time of 11:13. The sophomore did not race a 3200m on the track last year but placed eighth at the 2014 Utah State XC Championship in 18:24. The win on Saturday signals her as a podium threat come October.
