Girls 100m Dash Prelims

Recap: The high school national record holder Candace Hill showed just how much of another level that she is from the rest as she jogged her preliminary heat of the 100 meter dash at the World Youth Trials and still beat the New Balance Nationals 100 meter champ Jayla Kirkland (11.80) from Alabama by nearly four tenths of a second as the fastest qualifier at 11.47.

Seven girls went under 12 seconds in the prelims with California state runner-up Lauren Rain Williams (11.87) edging out Gabriele Cunningham (11.88) from North Carolina in heat 1, while Indiana state champ Lynna Irby taking heat 2 in 11.94.
