New Balance Nationals: VA Girls Individuals Preview

Distance

In the longer lap races, facing off with the heat and some tough competition are a select few Virginia girls. In the first of these events, the 800, Virginia has four competitors. In the first of three sections we have Alyssa Shupe (Jefferson Forest), Emma Call (Maggie Walker), and Ashley Greenlee (Bethel) competing. The final competitor in section two and seeded well is Reagan Bustamante from West Springfield. She has some serious wheels and in the right conditions could dip under 2:10.

In the mile, 2 mile, and 5000m races is Libby Davidson from E.C. Glass. Libby will be going against some tough competition in all three races but has the pedigree and experience to come away with at least two all-american finishes. Her best shot at winning is in either the 3200 or 5000m races.

Joining Davidson in the 5000 on Friday night is fellow Foot Locker finalist Weini Kelati and Amanda Swaak from James Madison.
