Amanda Gehrich cruised to new U.S. No. 1 1600m time of 4:39.33 this past weekend, winning the California State Meet!

Girls Mile

1. Ryen Frazier (Ravenscroft, NC - Sr.) - The senior has the U.S. #1 time in the mile this year with a 4:39.84! Frazier is the defending New Balance Nationals Outdoor Champion and was the runner-up in the mile at the New Balance Nationals Indoor this year.

2. Dani Jones (Desert Vista, AZ - Sr.) - Arguably the greatest distance runner produced by the state of Arizona, Jones finished 2nd in the Pre Classic this year just behind Ryen Frazier. The senior's time of 4:39.88 was good for U.S. #2. She is the Mt. SAC Relays 800m champion where she ran a time of 2:08.85. She nearly won a national title indoors out of a slow section at New Balance Nationals Indoor.

3. Christina Aragon (Billings, MT - Jr.) - Aragon holds the U.S. #1 1500m time of 4:16.36, which also ranks her U.S. #5 All-Time behind the likes of Mary Cain, Alexa Efraimson, Elise Cranny, and Jordan Hasay. Her mile time of 4:40.75 from a third finish at the Prefontaine Classic holds down the the U.S. #3 ranking. She is also the Montana State Champion in the 1600m. Just this past weekend she won the Great South West Classic 800m in 2:09.67. Earlier this year she won the Stanford Invitational mile in 4:53.75.

4. Hannah Long (Eureka, MO - Sr.) - The senior has the fastest 800m time in the country with a 2:04.23 last week against a pro field at the Festival of Miles. Long had an incredible triple at her final Missouri state meet splitting a 2:06 for her victorious 4x800 meter relay as well as running two impressive solo times of 4:40.15 in the 1600 and 2:08.87 in the 800 to close out her senior year as a nine time Missouri state champion. i

5. Jordyn Colter (Cherry Creek, CO - Sr.) - The Colorado state record holder in the mile and 800, Colter is U.S. #2 in the 800m with a time of 2:04.56. She is one of only two girls to go sub 2:05 this year just behind Hannah Long's time of 2:04.23. This girl can run more than just the 800m, she can also tear it up in the mile as well, her time of 4:41.10 ranks U.S. #4. She is also the Colorado State 5A champion in the 1600m with a time of 4:46.22.

6. Julia Heymach (Huston Lamar, TX - So.) - Only a sophomore, Heymach won both the 3200m (10:14.62) and 1600m (4:40.97) Texas State 6A Championships over a very talented Devin Clark. Her 1600m time ranks U.S. No. 6, while her, 3200m time ranks U.S. #8. She finished third in the two mile (10:23.27) at New Balance Nationals Indoor. She ran a very quick 1500 meter time earlier in the season at 4:23.51, which ranks US #3 in the event.

7. Amanda Gehrich (Tesoro, CA - Jr.) - Just this past weekend Gehrich won the California State Championship scoring a major upset over favorites Destiny Collins and Marissa Williams in the 1600m. Her time of 4:39.33 is a new U.S. #1 in the 1600m. She had finished second in the mile at the Arcadia Invitational earlier this year with a time of 4:47.66 which puts her just outside the U.S. top 10.

8. Marissa Williams (Palisades, CA - Sr.) - Williams finished just behind Gehrich this past weekend in the 1600m (4:39.88) at the California State Championship. Only one of two girls to go sub 4:40 in the 1600 nationally this spring. She doubled at the meet taking third in the 3200m with a time of 10:20.35. She also placed first in the mile at Mt. SAC earlier this year running a 4:54.42.

9. Destiny Collins (Great Oak, CA - Jr.) - Collins is coming off a huge California State Meet where she placed third in the 1600m running 4:41.30, and first in the 3200m with a U.S. #1 time of 9:53.79! The week prior, Collins ran a 4:40 solo effort in the 1600 at the Southern Section Masters Meet. The only other prep to run under 10:00 minutes in the 3200m this year is Allie Ostrander who went 9:58.74. Collins also posted a US #4 4:23 1500 earlier this spring.

10. Stephanie Jenks (Linn-Mar, IA - Jr.) - Jenks led the nation earlier in the season with her 4:40.78 1600 meter win at the Kansas Relays over Hannah Long. She competed in the competitive Prefontaine Classic and finished with a personal best full mile time of 4:42.16. For the third year in a row, Jenks won Iowa state titles in the 1500 and 3K while adding a first state title in the 800.
