2017 VHSL Group 5A-6A State Indoor Track & Field Championships-2/24
The state of Virginia will be poppin' this weekend as some of the countries best will be duking it out for a Virginia state title.  Both the Western Branch boys and girls teams are heavy favorites to take home the 6A state titles. On the individual side of things, Lauryn Ghee is looking to bring home some heavy hardware as she goes for her third triple crown by winning the 55m, 300m & 500m. Standing in her way will be US #1 in the 55mh, Shadajah Ballard, who is looking to double in the 55m dash and 55mh.  The 4x800m relay is going to be hot with three of the best girls in the country -- Lake Braddock's Kate Murphy, South Lake's Olivia Beckner and Patriot's Rachel McArthur -- leading their respective squads.  Murphy and Beckner are also entered in the 1600m and the 3200m while McArthur will go for the 10pts in the 1K.  Ole Miss signee Waleed Suliman will race the 4x8, 1K, and 1600m on the 5A level as Brandon McGorty looks to continue his senior year of domination competing in the 1K and 1600m in the 6A division.

Fastrack Last Chance Invitational-2/25
Championship season is almost here. Athletes gather in Staten Island, NY with hopes to hit fast times and qualiying marks.

PTFCA State Indoor Track and Field Championship-2/25
Terrance Laird is looking to become the fastest boy over 200m in PA state history as he looks to take down Brady Gehret's state record of 21.22.  Look for Noah Affolder to dominate multiple distance events as the Edinburgh XC Challenge champ will be looking for wins in both the 800m and the mile.  Two boys trying to get in the way of Affolder's double are Josh Hoey and PA #1 Ryan Thrush.  On the girl's side of the 800m, you have US #5 Olivia Arizin who should walk away with the state title in the 800m.  In the girl's 60mh, US #2 Chanel Brissett will look to lower her time and claim the title of fastest girl in the country over that distance. Similar to Affolder, on the girl's side Abbe Goldstein is looking to double up in the distance events she looks to win a state title in the mile and the 3K. Last but certainly not least we have to talk about the Knochness Monster, Jordan Geist, as he could make a serious attempt at Olympic gold medalist Ryan Crouser's high school national record in the shot put.

MIAA Auerbach All State Meet-2/26
The race of the entire week could possibly go down at the Massachusetts state meet in the 600m as US #1 and US #2 go head to head! Rodney Agyare-May has the fastest time in the country this year with a 1:18.40 but right behind him is Theo Burba's 1:19.62.  In the girls' 55-meter dash, US #12 Brooke-Lynn Williams (7.01 SB) looks to go under seven seconds. Coming off a solid fourth-place finish in the high school mile at Millrose, Jack Carleo is looking to go for his first state title on the track in the mile this weekend.  As for the girl's mile, there will be four athletes competing that have gone under 5 minutes, including Foot Locker All-American Grace Connolly.

Runners looking to hit qualifying marks ship off to Boston for one last chance to go fast this indoor season.
