POLL: MileSplit LA Girls' Indoor Athlete of the Year!

BRUSLY'S AARYONA KINCHEN CROSSES THE FINISH AT THE LSU LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER

Here is the ballot for the MileSplit LA Girls' Indoor Athlete of the Year. Congratulations to the finalists. They have earned a spot on the ballot by winning Performer of the Week honors during the regular season. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm. As always, thank you for voting. 

ADDILYN DUFRENE (John Curtis) - After sitting out last season due to transfer rules, Dufrene made the most her sophomore campaign. Dufrene (5-4.5) finished second at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships to John Ehret's Tenosh Landry. Dufrene's season best came at the LSU HS Qualifier where she won with a season best of 5-6.5.

KHIA WILLIAMS (Lafayette) - Williams had a huge day at the McNeese Indoor No. 1. She won the 55m against a talented field. She ran a personal record in 7.38 in the 55m. Williams faced another talented field in the 400m at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships. Williams' personal record of 59.52 was good enough for seventh place. 

KHAI BROWN (Warren Easton) - The freshman had an outstanding track and field season. Her 9.23 season best in the 60m hurdles. Was No. 5 in Louisiana, No. 7 in the nation for freshmen, and ranked No.3 all-time for Louisiana high school freshmen girls. Brown ended her season with a 9.33 and a fourth place finish at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships. The future is bright for this former MileSplit LA Future Star. 

KENNEDY PAPILLION (St. Joseph's) - Papillion competed in six meets during the 2024 indoor season. Papillion's last three meets ended with trips to the podium. Papillion saved her best for last at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships. She finished third place with a personal best of 5-2.5. 

AARYONA KINCHEN (Brusly)- Kinchen won the 400m at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. Kinchen's 57.02 was a personal record. While she did not run quite as fast at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships, her 57.26 was good enough for runner-up finish. Kinchen also finished 10th in the 60m with a 7.80. 

DILLON REIDENAUER (Fontainebleau)- Reidenauer tied her personal best at the LHSAA State Indoor Championship. The 12-2  jump was good enough to send Reidenauer to the podium with a third place finish. It was her frist podium appearance at a state meet.
