Yarayah Hawkins won the boys race to ignite Highland Regional to the team title, NJ #10 Westfield rolled to the girls title and Julia Tambaro of Rumson captured the girls individual title at Saturday's 24th St. Dominic Invitational at Lincoln Park.
Hawkins, a senior, covered the 5,350-meter course in 17:34 to win the boys race by eight seconds over runner-up over North Bergen senior Wilson Reynoso (17:44).
Led by Hawkins, Highland averaged 18:10 and went 1-4-5-10-12 to win the boys team title, 28-45 over runner-up Bridgewater-Raritan.
In the girls competition, Tambaro, a senior,, crossed the line first in 20:33, and Westfield dominated the team race. Westfield's top five finished 2-3-5-7-12 and the Blue Devils averaged 201:18 on the way to a 28-70 victory over runner-up Bridgewater-Raritan.
