The Scoop: An International Win, A U20 World Record And Some Crazy Indoor Performances

2. Mondo Duplantis Opens With U20 World Record In The Pole Vault

It was a crazy Friday night for Mondo Duplantis at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

The Lafayette (LA) High senior and LSU signee went a new U20 world record in the pole vault with a height of 5.83 meters and won the men's elite division at the National Pole Vault Summit.

Afterward, Duplantis's father Greg contacted USADA officials following the clearance to coordinate submission of a drug test Saturday morning, according to a report by DyeStat, so that Duplantis could have his height ratified.

It marked his third 19-foot jump since March of last year and his second world junior record in the pole vault following his clearance of 19-4.25 at the Texas Relays.
