Weekend Rundown: Great Oak Boys Power Past Competition For Win At Mt. SAC

Rubidoux (CA) High's Kevin Ramos earned a big win in the Division I/Division 2 Individual Sweepstakes Boys race on Saturday at Mt. SAC, posting a top time of 14:39.00 and upsetting favorite and Flo50 no. 22 Liam Anderson of Redwood, who followed in 14:51.00.

It was Ramos' fifth win of the season and second-best performance at 3-miles following his third-place bid at Woodbridge on Sept. 16 in 14:03.

Ramos is hoping to best his 10th place performance from the CIF state cross country championships last year and second-place nod at the CIF Southern Section Finals in 2016. Anderson, meanwhile, posted his top time at 3-miles, improving upon his debut of 15:51.36 in August, and performed right in line with his second-place effort at the Clovis Invitational on Oct. 7.
