Jacob McLeod Edges Sam Bowers At Wing Foot XC Classic
Trinity Christian School (Georgia) High's Jacob McLeod, ranked No. 24 nationally in the Flo50 boys poll, narrowly snuck by with a win over Milton (Georgia) High's Sam Bowers.
McLeod and Bowers battled all the way to the line, with McLeod grabbing the win 14:50.22 to 14:50.3.
Although Bowers would take second, he would lead his team to the team title with the nationally ranked Milton boys finishing second, third, fourth, 12th, and 14th for a 15:29 average.
In the girls race, Elizabeth Funderburk of Colquitt County ran 17:30 to take the win. South Forsyth High School from Cummings, Georgia took home the team title scoring 116 points.
