Analysis: James Mwaura was undefeated for all of the 2016 regular season except for a loss at the Nike Portland XC Invite where he finished fourth to seniors. Mwaura had big postseason wins at the Border Clash and at the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional. His win at the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional earned him a spot in Portland at NXN where he finished 18th.
