Skinny: The future Tar Heel may surprise some people with his turnover in the 800m, especially at the state meet, where he's going to look to improve on his state-leading time of 1:53.30, which he converted in May.
The race also represented a two-second PR and slotted into the top 50 times in the nation. Brooks, who finished seventh in 1:55.43 a year ago in the same race, would be looking for his first championship.
He's also racing in the 1600m.
