Nike Cross Nationals: Let's Meet The Midwest Individual Girls

Anne Forsyth (Jr., Pioneer HS; Ann Arbor MI)- Forsyth will be running in her first NXN after finishing third in a personal best 17:09. The Michigan Division 1 runner up made an immediate impression on the field when she opened up a sizable lead that took her through the first mile in 5:20. Forsyth was on meet record pace at the halfway point before settling down and eventually making the team with ease. Her previously 5k best was 17:21. Forsyth has perhaps best known for her exploits on the track where she has been outstanding. She has earned several all-state honors including running on the 2016 state 4x800 relay that won in a blistering 8:56.53- good for US#6... lineage runs deep in Anne's family. Her father Ian Forsyth is a U of Michigan alum who once ran 4:00 for the mile. He was also a standout cross country runner for the blue and gold. The elder Forsyth is best known for running on the National Championship winning DMR  in 1995. That relay featured Olympian and current UM coach Kevin Sullivan.
