The Woodlands enters competition this year ranked No. 6 in the nation after placing sixth at NXN last December. They opened with a dominating performance at the UIL Region 3 XC Preview, where they scored 15 points. Woodlands runners placed 1-4 and sixth, but fifth-placer Kyle Doty of Bruceville-Eddy does not compete for a full team so he did not factor in the team scoring.
