The Top Five Upsets of the Week

1. Vashti over the planet

Ok, it's not technically an upset--Vashti Cunningham's 1.99m jump at US indoors was a world leader. But any time someone, particularly an American, wins a world championship just two months after her eighteenth birthday, it's titanic and unprecedented. The high school senior jumped 1.96m (6-5) in Portland with no misses en route to clinch her first IAAF world indoor championship on Sunday.

Vashti responded to getting crowned as the single best human on earth as what she does by accepting a salary for it. She announced yesterday that she is signing with Nike.
