The Five Biggest Girls Names Competing

5/4. DeSoto and Cedar Hill 4x100s
These two 4x1 squads raced each other on DeSoto's track three weeks ago, and when the smoke cleared, DeSoto was the third fastest school of the last decade and seventh fastest in HS history. Cedar Hill was just a quarter second behind. DeSoto ran 45.12 and Cedar Hill ran 45.39 at that meet in February; can they push each other to improvement this weekend? We're not sure, but we are sure that you should watch that race.

3. Aaliyah Miller (SR/McKinney Boyd)
Miller might be less on your radar because she didn't compete indoors, but she's one of the most versatile talents in the country.  She won the 400 and 800 in the biggest classification at last year's Texas state meet, and the 800 and 1600 the year before.  So far this outdoor season, she's been a distance runner--her 2:11.31 is US #4 in the 800, and she's run the 1600 twice--but she'll show off her sprinting chops on Saturday. Miller is entered in the open 400 and 4x400.

2. Alexis Duncan (SR/DeSoto)
Duncan is entered in the 100 hurdles and the 4x100 this weekend, and she's among the nation's very best in both. We already covered the greatness of the DeSoto 4x1, and Duncan is coming off an excellent indoor national meet in the hurdles. She took second in the 60H in 8.14--just 0.03 off the old national record and now #3 all time.  She's not even the favorite to win this meet in Dallas, though, because she's going up against...

1. Tonea Marshall (SR/Arlington Seguin)
Marshall stormed to two national records in one day at New Balance Nationals Indoor, and she'll be back at it again this weekend. Her 13.44 from last year makes her the #4 returner from last year in the 100 hurdles, but considering she just became the greatest 60m hurdler in high school history, she can likely go a lot faster. We'll begin to see how much faster on Saturday.
