The 9 Biggest Upsets at New Balance Nationals Indoor

6. Reed Brown Wins the Mile From the Slow Heat

One of the wildest national championships captured this weekend was Brown's mile title.  With Brandon Tubby pushing the pace for most of the unseeded section of the boys mile final, it looked like the heat would end up with a pedestrian time and the winner would come out of the seeded final.  But Brown turned on some Robby Andrews-esque jets in the last 75 meters.  According to the FAT splits, Brown was 1.75 seconds behind Tubby at 1500m and ran his last 109 meters in 14.5 seconds. He flew across the line in just under 4:10, and the time survived for the fast section for an unlikely win.
