After winning the emerging elite 800 at New Balance Nationals Outdoor in 2015, Cameron Cooper showed that he has fully emerged as an elite this year. Cooper split 1:51.16 on Oak Park's national runner-up SMR on Saturday night, and less than twenty hours later ran a then-US #1 time in the unseeded section of the boys 800 final. Cooper's mark wound up beating everyone but two boys from the seeded section.
