Foot Locker South
Five sophomore girls and one freshman girl earned All-Region honors at Foot Locker South. Heather Holt (11th, 17:46) of George C. Marshall, Va. and Alena Sapienza-Wright (12th, 17:54) of duPont Manual, Kentucky just missed advancing to the San Diego national championship. Wright won the 13-14 Girls race at Foot Locker South in 2013; she covered the 3K course in 10:25 to beat out future NXN All-American Rafaella Gibbons by 10 seconds.
Two more underclassmen in sophomore Sue Ann Morales of East Jackson, Ga. (13th, 17:55) and Kaylee DuPont of South Forsyth, Ga. (15th, 17:57) broke 18 minutes over the 5K course.
Underclassmen all-region performers also included freshman Amaris Tyynismaa (20th, 18:06) and sophomore Emma Wolcott (22nd, 18:08).
