CBA Wins Sixth Straight MOC Title

Joshua Clark Defeats Blaise Ferro

A week after losing to Don Bosco Prep at the NJSIAA group meet, Christian Brothers Academy avenged the loss at the New Jersey Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park.  Led by runner-up Blaise Ferro, CBA beat Bosco 87-92. It was the sixth straight MOC win for CBA.

Bosco had the edge through three runners, going 7-9-10 to CBA's 1-19-21. But CBA clinched the win with its fourth and fifth men--Paul Knepple and Brian Hill--who posted 22 and 24 points, respectively. Their counterparts for Don Bosco scored 32 and 34. David Rosas led the way for Don Bosco in fifteenth place. CBA averaged 16:19 for 5K on the famously hilly course, while Don Bosco averaged 16:26.

Joshua Clark of Highland Regional beat Ferro by three seconds, 15:33 to 15:36, for the individual win.

The two nationally ranked teams (CBA is #23, Bosco is #19) will face each other for the third straight postseason meet next week at NXN Northeast.

Alyssa Aldridge Top Girl

Sophomore Alyssa Aldridge of Mainland won the girls' title in 18:07 one week after recording the fastest time at the Group Championships. Olympia Martin took runner-up honors in 18:25, just edging bubble individual Briana Gess of Haddonfield.
