No. 18 ranked Courtney Wayment of Davis High School won her first Class 5A state title in on Wednesday afternoon in a time of 17:24.7 for three miles. That stands as the fastest time ever run at Sugar House Park, though the course is slightly different in 2015 due to the construction of a softball field.

Sarah Feeny holds the original course record at 17:25.

Runner-up McKenna Lee of Weber finished nearly 30 seconds back in 17:51. Junior Aubrey Argyle finished in fourth (17:59) for Davis, though the No. 19 ranked Darts finished runners-up in the team standings to No. 6 American Fork, 41 to 51 points. Sara Musselman (fifth, 18:11) finished first for the Cavemen, as Sophie Baird (6th, 18:19), Lexi Wright (9th, 18:23), Cami Squires (10th, 18:24) and Sammy Hollingsworth (11th, 18:26) ran an indestructible 14-second spread that bodes well for national considerations later this fall.
