Is it time to add a Georgia girl to the Flo50 National XC Rankings? Lindsay Billings of Northview continued her undefeated fall with an impressive 18:16.68 course record at Marist High School in Atlanta.
The senior outran Emma Grace Hurley of Fellowship Christian in the process, a 2014 Foot Locker finalist who ran 18:29 for runner-up honors and was also under the course record. Billings finished 11th at Foot Locker South last fall, but looks poised to make her first national team at this early point in the season.
The Marist girls are the state's premier team and one of the best in the southeast region, but Winter Park of Florida proved why they have a spot in the Flo50 with a stunning 76-121 point win. Sophomore leader Rafaella Gibbons took third in 18:43.71.
Frank Pittman won the boys varsity race in 16:30.97 and led Marist to the overall team title with 68 points.
