Logan Morris emerged the victor in meet record-setting fashion at the SCSDB Eye Opener in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Saturday morning. The Spartanburg Christian Academy senior ran 18:11.73 to defeat Jessie Crowley (18:29) and Makenzie Jones (18:39).
Eighth-grader Crowley recorded her second straight runner-up finish in a major invitational this season as she led her Riverside Warriors (SC) squad to their second consecutive team title. With Crowley in front, the Warriors scored just 27 points to defeat Jones' Morristown West (TN) squad (84 points).
The Warriors' top five scorers all ran under 19:30 for 5k and placed within the top 11 for team scoring.
