In a battle of Wisconsin state 3200m champions, seniors Aubrey Roberts and Alicia Monson ran the nation's No. 1 and No. 3 fastest 5k times of the season. Roberts, the D1 state champ from Eau Claire Memorial, came out on top with a time of 17:27.5 - a full minute faster than she ran at the same meet last year.
Monson, the D2 state champ from Amery, ran US No. 3 17:37.6.
Roberts' victory challenges the Wisconsin distance girls hierarchy, as Monson owns a faster 3200m best by 16 seconds - 10:26 to 10:42.
