Sharrika Barnett improved her nation-leading 400m time to 52.25 in winning the New Balance Nationals Outdoor title.

1. Sharrika Barnett (Oak Ridge, FL - Jr.) - Barnett improved upon her second place finish from the Florida state meet last year to win the title this year. She would go on to win the 400 at New Balance Nationals Outdoors where she ran the U.S. No. 1 time of 52.25. Barnett also took home victories at the Golden South Classic and the Great Southwest Classic.

2. Sydney McLaughlin (Union Catholic, NJ - So.) - Although McLaughlin was primarily a standout in the 400 hurdles, when she ran the flat 400 she was just as dominant. She was the New Jersey state champion in the event where she clocked the U.S. No. 2 time of 52.59.

3. Sammy Watson (Rush Henrietta Sperry, NY - So.) - Watson went undefeated in the 400 this year en route to a New York state title in the event. She won in 52.69, putting her at U.S. No. 3 for the year. She also took home the victory at the Loucks Games.

4. Symone Mason (Miami Southridhe, FL - So.) - The New Balance Nationals Runner-up ran U.S No.4 52.8 to win the USATF World Youth Trials

5. Nicole Montgomery (Lewis-Palmer, CO - Sr.) - Montgomery captured her third consecutive Colorado state title in the 400 this year where she ran the U.S. No. 5 time of 52.95. She also finished second in the Great Southwest Classic.

6. Aliyah Abrams (Grayson, GA - Sr.) - Abrams bettered her second place finish from last year taking the Georgia state title in the 400 with her U.S. No. 6 time of 53.10. She also went on to win the 400 at Brooks PR.

7. Hanna Waller (Buchanan, CA - Jr.) - Waller improved upon her third place finish from the California state meet last year to take the state title this year where she ran a PR of 53.13. She also took first at the Arcadia Invitational and finished third at Brooks PR.

8. Zola Golden (NY - Sr.) - Golden was unable to compete in the state meet as she ran this year unattached, but that didn't stop her from putting up big performances. She finished fifth in the 400 at the Adidas Grand Prix and took second at USATF Junior Nationals, earning her a spot on the Pan Am team. Her time of 53.12 ranks U.S. No. 7.
