Cami Davre ran 2:09.2 in the 800m to break Suzy Favor's 30-year-old state meet record.

Sophomore Cami Davre of Whitefish Bay ran 2:09.2 in the 800m to break Suzy Favor's 30-year-old state meet record. She also won the 1600m in 4:56.12 and ran on the winning 4x800m relay (9:14.12), as the Blue Dukes took home the first Division I state team title in school history.

Boys Highlights:

  • Olin Hacker of Madison West defends his Wisconsin state 3200m title, running 9:00.86. The Wisconsin-bound senior is a two-time state champ in cross country and was a double national runner-up in cross at Foot Locker and NXN this fall. His finish led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 3200m by runners from the Big Eight. It's a closer contest on Day 2, as Hacker and Eric Brown both run 4:13, but Hacker comes away with the distance sweep. Brown returns to the track to win the 800m in 1:54.78.
  • Jack Wellenstein of Madison West wins 400m in 47.82, a huge PR and first state title for the graduating senior! He ran his previous best of 48.39 to finish runner-up at the 2014 state meet.

Girls Highlights:

  • Sophomore Cami Davre of Whitefish Bay defended her state titles in 1600m (4:56.12) and 800m (2:09.22), breaking 2:10 for the first time in the latter. But the win represented much more than a state title, as Davre's time eclipsed the 30-year-old Division I state meet record set by Suzy Favor! Though she's just a 10th grader, Davre has set her sights on the record for years now, ever since she ran 2:12 as an 8th grader. She returned on Day 2 to lead the Blue Dukes to win the 4x800m relay in 9:14.12, as Whitefish Bay won its first D1 state team title in school history.
  • Gabby Beauvais of Morona Grove not only won her first state title, but took home three golds as she swept the 400m (54.82), 200m (24.32) and 100m (12.31). Her time in the 400m eclipsed the two-year-old state record, though the event is not her specialty. She also broke the state record in the long jump (19-1), but placed third.
  • Jade Nolan jumped 19-8.5 to win the long jump, as the top three all broke the Wisconsin state record
