Sophomore Madison Wiltrout of Connellsville, Pa. set the National High School Record in the javelin with a throw of 185-8 earlier this month.

Girls Javelin

1. Madison Wiltrout (Connellsville, PA - So.) - The former pitching standout set the National High School Record of 185-8 in the event. The mark shattered her previous Pennsylvania state record of 168-5, which she set in finishing runner-up at The Penn Relays Carnival. She won the state title as a freshman and looks for her next title this weekend.

2. Sophia Rivera (Brentwood, MO - Jr.) - Rivera is another all-time performer, as she set the U.S. No. 5 All-Time mark of 175-10, which ranks U.S. No. 2 this year. The Penn Relays champion not only won a coveted gold watch, but set a Meet Record in Philadelphia with her US #2 169-6 throw. Also the Kansas Relays champion, Rivera is undefeated this season and the only athlete to deliver a win over national record holder Wiltrout. She is a five-time Missouri state champion and three-time All-American in the throwing events, including an individual title in the Shot Put at the 2015 indoor nationals.

3. Tairyn Montgomery (Redondo Union, CA - Jr.) - Montgomery is the defending New Balance Nationals Outdoor champion. The multi-event star has competed in just one javelin competition this year, but one was enough as her 157-2 throw to win the Arcadia Invitational ranks U.S. No. 8. She is also the defending USATF National Junior Olympics champion.

4. Katelyn Gochenour (Marian, NE - Jr.) - The 2014 New Balance Nationals Outdoor runner-up, Gochenour ranks U.S. No. 3 this year with an all-time best mark of 167-2.

5. Gabrielle Kearney (Roseburg, OR - Sr.) - The defending Oregon State Champion took third at New Balance Nationals last spring. She owns an all-time best of 166-0 and ranks U.S. No. 5 on the outdoor leaderboard with a season-best throw of 158-4.

6. Peyton Montgomery (Barbe, LA - Sr.) - The two-time Louisiana State Champion has enjoyed a standout spring to launch up the national leaderboard. Her 162-5 mark to win state ranks U.S. No. 4 this year. She placed 10th at USATF Junior Nationals in 2014.

7. Keiryn Swenson (Maize, KS - Sr.) - The prolific thrower is undefeated through nearly two seasons in the javelin, with her sole runner-up finish in 2015 coming to Rivera at the Kansas Relays. The senior threw her personal record of 158-4 at her league meet to tie for U.S. No. 5 this year.

8. Brooke Hinderliter (Redbank Valley, PA - Jr.) - The junior has won her District Championship every year, but has yet to win the elusive PIAA state title. She ranks P.A. No. 2 behind Wiltrout and U.S. No. 7 with her personal best of 157-9.

9. Alexis Rigmaiden (St. Louis, LA - Jr.) - The junior successfully defended her Louisiana state title and has seen a huge improvement this year, from 138-5 to 157-1 to rank U.S. No. 9.

10. Danielle Collier (Hickory, PA - Sr.) - The senior broke into the top ten of the national leaderboard with back-to-back throws over 156 feet. She set her personal best of 156-5 last weekend to win her first district championship.
