Field Events

Pole Vault Invitational

US #3 Kaitlyn Merritt (Santa Margarita, CA) will look for her third consecutive Arcadia title. The Stanford commit has cleared 13-7 this year and is knocking on the door of a second 14-foot clearance. Fellow California vaulters, US #8 Rachel Baxter (Canyon, CA) and US #9 Erika Malaspina (Pacific Collegiate, CA), have also cleared 13 feet this season.

Shot Put Invitational

Elana Bruckner (San Jose Valley Christian, CA) is the top returnee after finishing sixth this year, but more impressive is her improvement since 2014. The junior ranks US #1 in the Shot Put at 49-10 and US #5 in the Discus at 152-8. She doubled in the Shot and Discus at the Stanford Invitational last weekend and is attempting to do the same at Arcadia.

High Jump Invitational

How much closer can Vashti Cunningham (Bishop Gorman, NV) inch to history? The junior ranks US #3 All-Time with her 6-3 personal record and has jumped 6-2.5 already this season. Arcadia's official tagline is "Home of National Records." Can Cunningham jump 6-4, or even surpass the National High School Record?

Discus Throw Invitational

Kendall Mader (Newbury Park, CA) leads the field and the country with her US #1 164-4 mark set last month. She is more than 10 feet ahead of second seed Elana Bruckner (Valley Christian, CA), who ranks US #5 152-8, but the junior leads the nation in the Shot Put and has strong momentum from a Shot Put-Discus double at the Stanford Invitational.

Long Jump Invitational

Sophomore Tara Davis (Agoura, CA) (pictured) leads the field with her US #1 20-4, as the only prep to jump 20 feet this season, but Courtney Corrin (Harvard-Westlake, CA) won this event two years ago and has a personal record of 21-0.

Triple Jump Invitational

If anyone can attempt the long and triple jump double and succeed, it must be Tara Davis (Agoura, CA) - whose weekend 20-4 LJ/40-11.5 TJ double was completed in California and Texas. The triple jump will be the more difficult event for Davis to roll through, as the field features US #5 40-2.5 performer Ciynamon Stevenson (Great Oak, CA) and US #6, 40-0 ranked Chinne Okoronkwo (Mountlake Terrace, WA) (pictured), who has lots of experience with 41-plus foot jumps.
